AIRPOT TRAINING
Airpot Troubleshooting Part 1: Tightening the center plug
A great airpot will release about 6–8 ounces of coffee when pumped if the pot is at least halfway full. If the pot is less than halfway full, it should still work fine, but may take more effort to pump. If you purchased a new airpot, and it is more than halfway full, and not pumping correctly, try these airpot troubleshooting tricks to quickly fix your airpot.
- Check the bottom of the airpot to see if the center plug is loose.
- If the center plug is loose, turn the center plug to the right until it is tight.
- Now that the airpot plug is tight, try pumping the airpot. If it is still not pumping correctly, watch Airpot Troubleshooting Part 2.
Airpot Troubleshooting Part 2: Checking the lid function
If the center plug on the bottom of the airpot is tight, and the airpot is still not working, the next step is to test the lid. Take the lid off and hold down the rubber grommet while carefully pushing the lever down. If the lever is difficult to push down, the lid is not the problem. If the lever is not difficult to push down, you will need to order a replacement lid.
- Test your lid by plugging the rubber grommet and pumping the lever at the same time.
- If you are able to push the lever down without difficulty, the lid needs to be replaced. Please contact customer service about this issue.
- If you have difficulty pushing the lever down, the airpot lid does not need to be replaced.
- After watching Airpot Troubleshooting Parts 1 and 2, and your airpot is still not working, please reach out to customer service for more information.
Airpot Help: How to remove the lid
Replacing an airpot lid can be harder than it looks, be careful not to pull the lever on the lid too hard or it could break. Follow the steps in the video above to successfully remove an airpot lid.
- Push the button underneath the lever to release airpot lid
- Turn the airpot around so that you can see the switch on the back.
- Push the lever down where it says "push," and pull the lid upward.
- To put the lid back on the airpot, attach the hinge on the lid to the airpot, and it should snap into place.
Airpot Help: Replacing the liner
Whether your airpot liner is broken, or you're switching between glass and stainless liners, replacing an airpot liner can be a pretty simple task.
- Remove airpot lid and suction pipe, then turn the airpot around so you can see the back.
- Use the screwdriver to unscrew the small screw on the back of the airpot.
- Unscrew the center plug and plastic base at the bottom of the airpot.
- Carefully slide out the liner (inside the liner shield) from the bottom of the airpot.
- Replace the old liner with a new liner, and put together the same way you took apart.
